  1. I have started to use WordPress and found it to be extremely easy. As I am becoming more familiar with it and finding more ways to improve the look at my site. I do have some queries though which you maybe able to help me with.

What is a sufficient number of plugins? I find I am using too many but I don’t want to lessen the look of my site. I like the way it looks.

    1. Hi Owain

Many thanks for your comments. Of course I would be happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability.

We are recommended not to have more than five plugins, but I am using more than that because I need them. Of course there shouldn’t be too many, but if they are essential to the good running of your site, then I should not worry about having more than five. I have asked many people about this, and they all agree that it is OK to have more than five.

Of course, if you have some which you are not using at all then you would delete those. I also have one or two which I only activate occasionally when I need them, and then deactivate again, such as the WPClone plugin. I find that works just fine!!

If I am able to help you any further, please do not hesitate to ask. Of course, you can find all the help you need on the Wealthy Affiliate Website where you can join for free: http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/a_aid/dabd959f/campaign/welcomepagereferrals

  3. Hi Chrissy,

First of all, excellent introductory article to Wealthy Affiliate University and all the benefits that it can offer. As you pointed out in your article people have the potential to fall into multiple pit falls when first trying to go out there and build and your website.

I was definitely one of those people. I tried many other less effective website builders because I thought that WordPress would be too difficult to learn. I was very wrong about that.

WordPress has definitely been the most effective builder in my opinion.

    1. Hi Alec

Very many thanks for your comments.

As you say, there are so many potential pitfalls for people beginning their websites, and any way that these can be avoided is all to the good.

This is where the training provided by Wealthy Affiliate helps so much – when we learn the right way to do things from the outset then we can avoid so many potential mistakes. Like everything, WordPress can be easy when you know how!!

I do hope that you are now enjoying success using WordPress.

      Chrissie 🙂

  4. I am really interested in starting a website to try and make some money from home. I heard that WordPress is simple to use, especially for beginners (like myself). I have heard there are other platforms like Joomla (not sure if that is the correct word). I am not sure how easy that one is to use.

A friend told me that I can get a free website through WordPress. But I don’t really know how I can get the website to make money. I know that websites can make money through ads, but personally ads on websites annoy me. So I don’t want a site like that. I assume there are other ways to generate money with a website.

I haven’t heard of wealthy affiliate university. Is it purely online or is there a location somewhere? What kind of degrees do they offer?

    Thanks

    1. Hi Simone
